Jacinta Halloran Book Launch Tuesday 19 August 2008

On Tuesday 19 August 2008, Avenue Bookstore was the place to be when Helen Garner enthusiastically launched Jacinta Halloran's novel, Dissection. A crowd of close to 200 celebrated Jacinta's literary debut, and the author was still signing copies of Dissection over an hour after the speeches!

Shortlisted for the 2007 Victorian Premier's Prize for an unpublished manuscript, the judges said, ‘Dissection is a perfectly judged and beautifully written account … a pensive and probing character study, a portrait of quiet despair and stoicism.’

Dissection is the latest in fantastic, new Aussie fiction from local Melbourne publisher Scribe Publications.
