Author(s): Jo Firestone; Fred Firestone

Games and Puzzles

From the daughter-father duo that created Brooklyn's beloved live pun competition, the "Punderful card game that] will replace Cards Against Humanity at your next party." (Mashable.com) One part game, one part conversation starter, you don't need to be a pun master to master Punderdome: the goal is to make bad jokes and have fun along the way. A player (the prompter for that round) draws two prompt cards from the deck, and then reads the prompts to the rest of the group, who have 90 seconds to create a single, groan-worthy pun that combines the two prompts. When time is up, pun makers share their puns with the prompter, who awards the prompt cards to the player whose pun he or she likes best. The winner then draws the next pair of prompt cards and the process repeats. Players win by obtaining 10 pairs of cards. - 200 double-sided cards (100 White and 100 Green)- 2 Mystery Envelopes with fill-in prize slips- 2 80-page pads for drafting puns- 1 instruction card and 1 pun example card- A stu-PUN-dous time for 3 or more players

Praise for Punderdome: A Card Game for Pun Lovers This punderful game will replace Cards Against Humanity at your next party."--"Mashable.com " "First, there was Apples to Apples, the game of absurd comparisons. Next, there was Cards Against Humanity, the R-rated Apples reboot for basics. And now, there sPunderdome, a card game created by Fred and Jo Firestone." "--Brokelyn.com" " [The] new Pun-Based Card Game Will Shuffle Your Boredom."-- "Mental Floss" Praise for the Live Game Show, Punderdome 3000 But for the contestants in a monthly pun competition at Littlefield, a performance space and bar in Brooklyn, forming puns is a spigot they can t turn off. --"The New York Times" (The PUNDERDOME(r)) was unabashed silliness that I longed to bottle and smuggle out in my purse. --"The New Yorker" The lowly pun has long been considered the bottom-feeding bristle worm of the comedy world . That has changed with the arrival of Punderdome 3000, a now monthly event that has turned punning into a high-functioning competition that is equal parts stand-up, beat poetry --"The New York Post" Father-daughter pair Fred and Jo Firestone have started a family together. To clarify: It s a figurative family, but indeed, family is the right word; the Punderdomers are more loyal and tight-knit than just a community, and have more inside jokes than your average clan. --"Bustle" (Punderdome(r)) is both an endearingly homemade and impressively high-caliber show during which astute wordsmiths (including a crew of beloved regular punsters) spin clever and very funny puns to a packed house. --"The New York TImes" The ultimate night of silliness for anyone whose puns are always intended, this tournament-style wordplay contest takes the energy of a bar trivia night and applies it to pun making. --"The New York Times" Punderdome was a delightful experience that deserves the cult following it s achieved. With its charismatic host and fierce competitors, Punderdome 3000 proves that the pun is an art form that s here to stay. --"Inside New York" New York's Most Intense Pun Competition It s certainly not the only pun competition in existence, but it differentiates itself by managing to make punning into a spectator sport. --"The Comublia Daily Spectator" She booked the basement of Southpaw (the Punderdome s long-time home until it closed earlier this year) and promptly called (who else?) her dad to help devise the competition. --"Capital New York" When Jo Firestone left her Clayton home to become a comedian in New York City, she never thought her father would end up as her stage partner. --"St. Louis Post-Dispatch" Praise for Jo Firestone "Firestone s comedic chops have already gotten her compared to a modern day Ziegfeld, and she s just getting started."--"Brooklyn Magazine" """She s incredibly skilled at controlling and steering audience participation, and yet she says she enjoys the unpredictably of that approach."--"Vulture.com" "Jo Firestone is a comedian who has repeatedly found ways to make people laugh via her offbeat, zany and wholly enjoyable comedy."--"AXS.com" ""Just what you need if things are a little too staid and boring in your life" --Brokelyn" ""Delightfully weird" --Brooklyn Based" ""Reigning title holder in the Oddest Human in New York Comedian division."--Brokelyn" ""Comedic mad scientist" --Wag's Revue""
