First published 50 years ago by Hodder, this striking picture book is a special anniversary edition. Once upon a time there were two friends, called Eric and Oleg. When Eric's house burns down, Oleg invites him to stay. Soon Eric is eating Oleg out of house and home and being extremely ungrateful. But when Eric gives Oleg a coat with silver buttons by mistake, Oleg's fortunes look like they're on the mend! A timeless story about friendship and helping others. Ben Cort - the best-selling illustrator of Aliens Love Underpants, among others - has written an introductory letter to this edition of his parents' book.
Margaret and John Cort were a husband and wife team, parents of the award-winning illustrator Ben Cort. This was their only picture book. Margaret used to work in advertising and likes quilting, cooking and gardening. John was a designer and illustrator and enjoyed pottery and watching football.
