Peyrassol, located in the Massif des Maures, France, has a settlement history dating back a long way, and it was here where the Knights Templar were to establish one of their commanderies. This huge 1000ha domain has now been restored to its past splendour. Investing a great amount of passion, its present owner, Philippe Austruy, has turned Peyrassol into what it used to be - a place of great beauty, yet with a commercial purpose. Long stone terraces once again underline the symmetry of the vineyards, offsetting the ancient oak trees - a setting evoking the spirit of the Knights Templar. And art du vin is not the sole attraction in Peyrassol: Philippe Austruy has also created one of France's most beautiful contemporary sculpture parks. Peyrassol, a place where time stands still, a place where past and present meet in an eternal symbiosis.
Philippe Austruy is the owner of the Commanderie Peyrassol. As an art enthusiast, he has turned the domain into an open-air museum, whilst cultivating the finest wines.
