It has to be said that the Gold Coast is not shy of a bit of bling, but scores head north to bright and breezy "Goldie" for some sun, surf, action or relaxation. Theme parks aside, the Goldie has lots to offer and certainly provides a plethora of things to do and see for all budgets and interests. If you are into the high-life, cruise the coastal beach areas full of bars and tourist traps but if tranquil settings are more your style, head into the hinterland where you are sure to see a different side of this otherwise bustling region. The weather is generally glowing all year but the end of November is to be avoided if possible (Schoolies week) when 'Surfers Paradise' and surrounds turn into party towns!
